Hi, I’m Dr. Ashburn!
My Philosophy and Mission
Teaching is an opportunity to impact my students’ lives in a positive manner every day.
Many of my students pursue their studies while juggling family obligations and full-time jobs. So I shape my teaching methods and create course resources to best serve their unique needs.
My mission is to meet students at whatever level they are at, and grow their skills and self-confidence to achieve their goals.

You’ll find me working out at UFC Gym nearly everyday. I frequent many of the Group Fitness classes (yes, even Zumba :). Come say hi! It’s always great to make new fitness friends to help keep each other healthy.
At home, I like to create digital artwork and watch way too many YouTube travel videos.
My wife and I enjoy eating, so you may see me stuffing my face in Pearlridge, Waipio, Waikele, and Kapolei. I love the Down to Earth grocery stores too.
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.
Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.
Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.
And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.
